What are Mitochondria?

Mitochondria are cellular organelles1 that produce energy for body cells. Because of this function, they are the principal energy source of cells.

How do they do this? Mitochondria take in nutrients to our cells and then convert them into energy rich molecules that nourish the cells. Furthermore, oxygen is a very important part of the process. Oxygen is an essential fuel for creating energy.

So their overall responsibility is to keep our cells full of energy. Now, when your body is healthy, your mitochondria reproduce, they multiply. And as a result, you have more energy.

Below is a video where Dorothy describes what we can do to help our mitochondria. And when we do, we experience more energy and vitality in life.
